Stress Test Results: Banks Named!

Since it's been rather difficult to find a listing of all the banks that were stress tested, and whether or not they passed, I thought I'd post this information. The data comes from this government document (thanks  ). See how your bank stacks up! Note that in reality there are different degrees of fail, and each bank that fails will have to raise different amounts of capital for reserve purposes.

  1. On the plus side, it looks like PNC failed least badly out of all the banks - a piddling $600 million to be raised against their $21 billion market cap. The other failbanks all did much worse.

  2. Yeah you're right. I heard the same thing. That's good. Probably had something to do with their purchase of National City anyway...

  3. Of course Capital One passed; They're evil and steal from unsuspecting college students.

  4. Yeah I know. Did the stress test include terrible commercials? If so, that would explain why C1 did so well.
